Bouncer /
Connecting with XChat
XChat Azure is an open-source IRC client for Mac.
- From the menu, select
File
-->Network List...
.
Attach:xchat-menu.png - If your nick name is blank, fill in your nick name with the bouncer username you registered. If your user name is blank, fill in your user name with the bouncer username you registered.
- At the bottom-left corner, click on the
+
button to add a new network. Name the network network-bnc; replacenetwork
with the network you want to connect to. Then, click onShow details
.

General
tab. Forhostname
, use your bouncer server (it should look likeexample.ircnow.org
). The port should be 31337, and checkSSL
. UncheckUse global user information
and fill in the Nickname with the bouncer username you registered, and the user name with the bouncer username you registered.

Connecting
tab. CheckAuto connect to this network at startup
. CheckUse SSL for all the servers on this network
. For theServer password
, put username/network:password. For example, if your username isjohn
, the network you want to connect to isircnow
, and your password isabcde12345
, thenServer password
should bejohn/ircnow:abcde12345
.

Connect in a new tab
at the bottom of the left window. - If you see a message saying ZNC is not yet connected to the network, type
/znc connect
-- wait a few minutes to connect.
