Connecting with AndroIRC

AndroIRC is proprietary software. To protect your privacy and freedom, you should consider using an open source IRC client.

  1. Tap the three dots at the top right, then tap Settings.

  2. Tap Servers → (three dots) → New Server

  3. Fill in the details:

    1. Name: the name of the network you want to connect to
    2. Address: your bouncer server address (it should look like example.ircnow.org)
    3. Port: 31337
    4. Password: username/network:password -- for example, if your username is john, the network you want to connect to is ircnow, and your password is abcde12345, then fill in john/ircnow:abcde12345.
    5. Nickname: the bouncer username you registered
    6. Check Secured Connection
    7. Check Use SSL certificate
    8. Check Auto-connect
    9. Tap (back) icon at the top-left corner
  4. Tap on the + icon to connect to your server. Select the new server from the list:

  5. If you see a message saying ZNC is not yet connected, type /znc connect -- wait a few minutes to connect.
